Ashley Davis
Study Abroad Coordinator
Ashley is from a small town in the Detroit Metro Region and has been interested in foreign languages and cultures ever since her childhood. She started her foreign language studies unofficially by copying Japanese characters out of a dictionary and officially by taking two years of French in high school. This led to her leaving her rural town to continue her French and Japanese studies at Michigan State University and abroad at the Institut de Touraine in Tours, France, and JCMU in Hikone, Japan.
After finishing her undergraduate studies, she returned to France to teach at the University of Tours and obtained her M.A. in French at Michigan State University by studying graphic novel representations of foreigners living in France. Wishing to continue traveling and combine her skills then brought Ashley to work for local government bodies in Japan, where she supported foreign visitors and residents.
Now, Ashley’s travels have brought her to CEPA in Ingersheim to help students begin their own journeys across the globe. She is native in English, fluent in French, Japanese, and German, and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
