Study Abroad Coordinator
Cathrin was born and raised in a small town called Pfullingen in the South of Germany. Her passion for travelling was sparked by various family vacations to Italy and Spain. In high school, she opted for the language path, which included classes in English, French and Spanish. An exchange to Passy, France, and a language holiday to Bournemouth, England, made her realize the importance of getting to know other cultures and how this experience can be enhanced by communicating in the local language.
After graduating, Cathrin made her dream come true and travelled to Australia, where she spent eight months working and travelling with people from all over the world. During this time, she learned to become more independent and confident and made memories and friends for a lifetime. She also fell in love with surfing, which she still does whenever she gets the chance to get close to the ocean.
Due to her affinity to languages, Cathrin trained as a Multilingual Management Assistant learning not only about business, but also various languages. Apart from English and Spanish, which she knew from high school, she decided to study Italian and Mandarin. Studying Mandarin was a whole new experience. Even though it was very challenging at first, it soon turned into a fun activity with the highlight being successfully communicating with locals on a class trip to China.
Just recently, Cathrin finished her bachelor studies in Advertising and Marketing at the Stuttgart Media University. She spent a semester studying abroad in Málaga, Spain, to improve her Spanish skills, enhance her curriculum, and to get to know the Spanish culture. During her studies, she worked as a Marketing intern at Stuttgart Airport, experiencing work in the tourism sector for the first time. She then wrote her thesis about internal Change Management in the automotive industry.
Due to her internship in the tourism industry and her various experiences with studying and living abroad, she decided to work with CEPA. Cathrin is very excited to contribute to CEPA’s work bringing in her international experiences, languages and skills formed during her studies, thus creating memorable experiences for other students.
In her free time, she likes to go climbing and bouldering, skating, wakeboarding, and – when on holiday – surfing.
