Jessica Minuth

Study Abroad Coordinator

Jessica grew up in a small town near Reutlingen where she enjoyed being outside and exploring her surroundings from a very young age. Yearly trips in Europe with her family awakened her passion for travel, cultural exchange and adventure.

Due to her interest in psychology, she graduated high school with a focus on social sciences before she decided to step out of her comfort zone and book a flight to the other side of the world. That is when her eleven months long adventure in Australia began and her love for travel intensified. Down Under, she worked on a vineyard for multiple months and as an Au-Pair on a cattle farm, which made her exceed her limits and strengthened her personality. Besides that, she explored many marvellous places and made friends for a lifetime. Australia is also the place where she developed her love for surfing which made her go on multiple surf trips to Portugal and France later on. After her time Down Under ended, she couldn’t go back home straight away, which is why she spent a few weeks travelling throughout Thailand. Back home in Germany, her wanderlust hadn’t stopped, so she tried to figure out a way to turn her passion into a profession. Always having the next flight booked (ideally with nothing but a backpack and her surfboard), she started studying Health and Tourism Management at the University Nürtingen-Geislingen, combining her interests in both sectors.

Thanks to her travel experiences, she has good communication skills and intercultural competence which she is excited to bring into her work at CEPA. She considers herself very lucky to be able to work in an international environment and hopes to contribute to offering students an experience of a lifetime and extraordinary memories. Due to her own experiences, she believes that staying abroad is very enriching and rewarding both personally and professionally.

Her interests in languages developed in school where she enjoyed learning French, English and Spanish. To improve her Spanish skills and to get to know another way of life, she spent one semester at the Universitat de les Illes Balears where she focused on courses in tourism and business. Once again, living and learning abroad showed her the importance of broadening one’s horizon, getting to know people of different nationalities as well as the local culture.

Especially on her travels, Jessica loves being in the water, catching waves, hiking, wandering around cities, tasting local foods and connecting with people from all around the globe.
