Katharina Peix

Study Abroad Coordinator

Katharina grew up in Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest. Her parents speak French with each other, so she grew up bilingual.

She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in European Minority Languages, with a focus on the German minority language Sorbian, as well as Welsh/Irish Gaelic and Catalan. Cultural exchange, transculturality, communication, and (minority) languages are among her passions. She just completed her Master’s degree in “Moving Cultures – Transcultural Encounters” at the Goethe University in Frankfurt a.M.

She has many practical experiences before coming to CEPA. She did a European Voluntary Service and taught German in Split, Croatia, studied English and Celtic languages in Szczecin, Poland, worked briefly in Sweden, and did an internship at the media company ARTE in Strasbourg, France. At Goethe University, Katharina also worked as an assistant on the Fem4Dem project, which empowers immigrant women in Germany.

She speaks German, English, French, understands and speaks moderate Spanish and Catalan, and can also communicate a little in Polish.
