Laura Abdel Keriem

Study Abroad Coordinator

Laura was born to a German mother and an Egyptian father in 1989 in Germany. She grew up in the town of Ludwigsburg, a city near Ingersheim, and finished her school at the local Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium in 2010. She there opted for the language path and started with English classes followed by French and Spanish.

She was introduced to other cultures throughout her upbringing by regular visits throughout Europe and Egypt with her family. When she grew older, she continued travelling on her own, spending six months in Southeast Asia, where she learned about other cultures and lifestyles. Influenced by her international experiences and bicultural upbringing, she found herself driven to study culture and decided to pursue her Bachelors in Cultural Anthropology and Spanish. In her studies, Laura learned about concepts like migration, discrimination and intercultural competences in cultural anthropology, and was also able to immerse herself in the culture and language of the Hispanic world.

After finishing her studies in 2019, Laura started working for CEPA as a Study Abroad Coordinator. In her role, she is looking forward to providing successful trips to all of the students choosing CEPA for their educational travel abroad.

Laura is fluent in English, has working skills in Spanish and basic knowledge in French.

My favorite quote or advice:

“Keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to try new things or meet new people while you are abroad.

My most favorite memories from all of my travels are of the ones I did not plan in my itinerary.”
