Verena Diffenhard

Study Abroad Coordinator

Verena grew up in a small town in southern Germany close to Stuttgart. Already at a young age, she discovered her passion for traveling, experiencing different cultures, and getting to know people from all around the world.

In 2017, after graduating from high school, Verena decided on doing a gap year rather than attending university right away. She spent one year living and working as an Au-pair in Espoo, Finland’s second-largest city. During her stay, she not only explored the Finnish country and its culture, but she also used this stay up in the north to travel to and get to know Sweden and Estonia as well.

After returning back to Germany she started studying at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, majoring in Korean Studies and Historical and Cultural Anthropology. Her studies on the one hand focused on learning to read, write and speak the Korean language as well as on historical, political, and cultural aspects regarding the Korean peninsula and on the other hand on the concept and perception of culture and how to deal with it with a focus on Europe. During her studies she spent one year abroad in Seoul South Korea, studying at Korea University.

Having a passion for experiencing and exploring different cultures and countries and being interested in the tourism industry led to her becoming a Trainee at CEPA Europe.

Verena is fluent in German and English and has advanced knowledge of the Korean language as well as basic knowledge of French and Spanish.
