Toni Herre - Study Abroad Coordinator

Toni grew up in a small village close to Kiel in Northern Germany. However, because she is a dual citizen (Swiss-German), she never considered only one country as her home and started exploring the world from the young age of just six years old.

Living abroad at some point in her life has always been certain for her. When she was sixteen years old, she took that step and spent one year in Minnesota (USA) as a high school student. Toni learned a lot about the American culture and language, cultural differences as well as the importance of cultural exchanges by not only attending school and living with a host family but also by making new friends and travelling to different states.

After coming back home to Germany, studying in the German language was no longer an option since English had become her new favorite language. After she graduated from high school, she moved to Leeuwarden, The Netherlands to study International Tourism Management in English.

Her studies further solidified her knowledge of the tourism sector, enhanced her organizational skills, and developed her competency to work in international teams. Additionally, she just recently returned from a semester abroad in Indonesia and South Africa as part of her tourism studies.

Because she has taken part in so many study abroad programs herself, she is excited to develop and organize similar programs during her internship at CEPA Abroad.

Toni’s native language is German, but she is also fluent in English and has basic knowledge of the Dutch and Spanish languages.
