The European Study Center regularly welcomes visiting faculty members from various cultural and professional backgrounds to teach over a summer, spring, or fall semester.

Your “one-of-a-kind” home base in France for your faculty-led program

CEPA Foundation operates the European Study Center (ESC). The ESC program is based at the 18th-century Château de Pourtalès, in Strasbourg, France. The Château is a cultural landmark. Surrounded by an expansive public park, the Château is both a center for higher learning and a hotel frequented by members of the European Parliament and other noted guests from Europe and beyond.

Faculty-led student groups have the unique opportunity in to stay in the palace as part of their short or long-term faculty-led program.

Individual students can direct enroll at the European Study Center for a study abroad semester. summer, or year, take classes in English, and earn U.S. semester transfer credits.

The ESC offers everything needed for your study abroad group, such as:

Semester and summer programs for individual students

The European Study Center (ESC) provides meaningful and affordable study abroad programs for students to live and learn in a new cultural setting.

Through the supportive learning environment, your students have the opportunity to excel academically and develop international communication and leadership skills.

The Fall and Spring semester programs include an immersive learning experience where students enroll in courses at the University of Strasbourg in addition to their ESC Courses. The Summer Sustainable Leadership Program courses are entirely taught by American and International faculty at the ESC.

U.S. semester transfer credit: Semester: up to 15 credits / Summer: 6 credits
Students enroll in classes at: the ESC and Partner Institutions
Course instruction: English (Intensive French courses are available)
Class sizes: Small, typically 20 or fewer students
