January 5-16, 2025

in Budapest, Hungary / Bratislava, Slovakia / Prague, Czech Republic

Program Leader:
Dr. Amit Bhatnagar
Professor of Marketing and Director of PhD Program, Lubar College of Business

The goal of this course is to provide hands-on, on-site experience of the business culture of Europe, specifically Hungary and Czechia, to see how business, politics, and economic management are conducted there. The emphasis will be specifically on East Europe’s economic relations with the USA. Overseas sessions will include lectures, discussion, and site visits to historical landmarks. (Source UWM)

It was a pleasure for CEPA to be selected as UWM’s partner to plan, develop, and run the Business in Eastern Europe Winter term faculty-led study abroad program. This program in Eastern Europe offered students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich history, culture, and academic environment of the region. Students were able to engage in many activities organized by CEPA: lectures, workshops, and site visits that enhanced their understanding of Eastern European societies.

CEPA worked closely with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee faculty leader and study abroad program manager to design interactions with local universities and experts, and provide students with firsthand insights into contemporary issues faced by these nations.
The academic coursework taught by Dr. Bhatnagar was complemented by cultural excursions and experiences organized by CEPA. Overall, this study abroad experience not only enriched their academic journey but also fostered personal growth and a deeper appreciation for global perspectives.
