Omicron Delta Kappa Induction Convocation & Lecture
Georgia College and State University’s circle, or chapter, of the national leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa announced the recipient of their 2023 member-honoris-causa (honorary membership).
It was awarded to the Executive Director of CEPA, Uli Leibrecht, in recognition of the leadership she provides in international education and the good she has created at Georgia College through the Intercultural Leadership program.
The annual awards celebrate individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership and have had a positive impact on the campus community. Previous members-honoris-causa include the Georgia state senator, two private sector CEOs, and two professors. Established in 1914 at Washington & Lee University (Virginia), ODK is the national leadership honor society. Famous members have included Franklin Roosevelt, Robert Kennedy, Walter Cronkite, Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush, and Cokie Roberts.

Membership in Omicron Delta Kappa is reserved to those who demonstrate leadership achievements in one of five phases of university life: Scholarship; Athletics; Community service, social and religious activity, and university governance; Journalism and rhetoric; and the creative and performing arts. Members are expected to demonstrate exemplary character, responsible leadership and service in university and community life, superior scholarship, genuine fellowship, and dedication to democratic ideals. Nominations come from within the Georgia College Circle of OΔK.
