    It is becoming increasingly important for healthcare students to gain a global perspective and expand their cultural understanding.

    This program features an itinerary full of visits to reputable hospitals, companies operating in the healthcare sector in Germany as well as Swiss institutions like the World Health Organization or UNAIDS in Geneva. Students will be prepared to make a difference in the world by understanding their own personal global impact.

    • DAY 1

      • Overnight flight to Frankfurt, Germany (group flight can be booked separately)
    • DAY 2-3: STRASBOURG

      • Orientation session by your on-site CEPA coordinator
      • Guided walking tour of Strasbourg
      • Welcome dinner at an Alsatian restaurant
      • Visit a hospital in Strasbourg including a presentation on the French healthcare system to understand the day-to-day tasks of nurses and doctors in France
      • Admission to the Albert Schweitzer Museum
    • DAY 4: FREIBURG - BAD KROTZINGEN

      • Visit and and tour of the University Hospital of Freiburg Center of Nursing Education
      • Discussion with instructors to learn about the education of nurses in Germany
      • Visit a spa town in the Black Forest to meet with a representative of the tourist office or wellness clinic and learn about the concept of “taking a health cure”
    • DAY 5: OFFENBURG

      • Visit a German health insurance company and learn more about the German socialized health care plans
      • Visit the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Healthcare (EDQM), a leading organization that protects public health
    • DAY 6: HEIDELBERG

      • Visit a residential home, a special center offering community based services for people with psychiatric conditions
      • Guided tour of the German Pharmacy Museum, which is located inside the Heidelberg Castle
    • DAY 7-8: STRASBOURG

      • Bus tour along the famous “Route du Vin”, including a guided tour of the Castle Haut Koenigsbourg and a visit to an Alsatian winery (tasting included)
    • DAY 9-12: GENEVA

      • Visit the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS
      • Visit the WHO for a presentation on “Prevention in the Healthcare Sector”
      • Visit the world’s first international organization for health professionals
      • Guided tour of the Red Crescent Museum
      • Farewell dinner at a Swiss restaurant
