Explore Italian culture and history through the universal language of food. Gain first-hand knowledge and understanding through the exploration of deep-rooted regional cuisines and develop an appreciation of the culinary cultures by touring and tasting regional specialties.

  • DAY 1

    • Overnight flight to Florence, Italy (group flight can be booked separately)
  • DAY 2-5: FLORENCE

    Stay 3 nights at a 3-star hotel in Florence

    • Arrival at Florence Peretola Airport (FLR)
    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Welcome dinner at an Italian restaurant
    • Guided tour of the Mercato Centrale, where vendors sell various primary ingredients of the Tuscan cuisine (tasting included)
    • Visit Eataly Firenze to learn about high-quality Italian products and the true taste of Florence
    • Guided walking tour of Florence, including a tour of the Duomo
    • Visit a winery in the Tuscan region, including a tasting, where you will learn about wine production
    • Visit an olive oil mill in Volterra to get an introduction into the culture of olive growing in Tuscany (tasting included)
  • DAY 5-6: ROME

    Stay 2 nights at a 2-star hotel in Rome

    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Guided walking tour of Rome to see among others the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, and many other highlights of the “Eternal City”
    • Cooking class, during which you will prepare a 3-course meal of the regional Roman cuisine
  • DAY 7-8: POMPEII - SORRENTO

    Stay 3 nights at a 3-star hotel in Sorrento

    • Guided tour of Pompeii, a ruined and partially buried Roman city. It was destroyed and completely buried during a catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 and rediscovered in 1748.
    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Visit a limoncello and cheese factory to learn about the production of the famous limoncello and the mozzarella cheese and to taste some of their specialties
  • DAY 9-11: CAPRI - ROME

    • Round-trip ferry tickets to and from Capri
    • Free day on the island of Capri. You may wander through the streets of the historic center of Capri.

    Stay 1 night at a 2-star hotel in Rome

    • Check-in at the hotel
    • Farewell dinner at an Italian restaurant
    • Departure from Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)
