Follow the footsteps of different British writers while highlighting William Shakespeare’s work and life during site visits in London and Stratford-upon-Avon. Participants will enjoy tours of some of England’s most noteworthy theaters while getting a chance to test and improve their acting and writing skills during a variety of workshops.

  • DAY 1

    • Overnight flight to London, United Kingdom (group flight can be booked separately)
  • DAY 2-5: LONDON

    Stay 4 nights at a 3-star hotel in London

    • Arrival at London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Literary walking tour of London
    • Welcome dinner at a British pub
    • Backstage tour of the National Theatre to see three auditoriums, the front-of-house, scenic workshops, and backstage areas
    • Workshop at the National Theatre
    • Guided walking tour of Bloomsbury, following the footsteps of Virginia Woolf
    • Higher Education workshop at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, followed by a guided tour of the theatre and its exhibitions
    • Optional: Tickets to a performance at a theatre in London
    • Guided tour of Westminster Abbey with its Poet’s Corner, the burial place of writers, playwrights, and poets
    • Guided tour of the Keats House, where John Keats lived from 1818 to 1820 and where he wrote “Ode to a Nightingale”
  • DAY 6-7: STRATFORD-UPON-AVON

    Stay 2 nights at a 3-star hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon

    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Guided walking tour of Stratford-upon-Avon to follow Shakespeare’s footsteps
    • Optional: Tickets to a performance at a theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon
    • Workshop at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), one of the most famous classical theatre companies
    • Guided tour of the RSC Theatre to explore both the public and private areas of the theatre
  • DAY 8: OXFORD - LONDON

    • Free time in Oxford, a vibrant, multi-cultural city full of history and heritage

    Stay 4 nights at a 3-star hotel in London

    • Check-in at the hotel
  • DAY 9-12: LONDON

    • Guided tour of the British Library, the world’s largest library in terms of total number of items
    • Free time to further explore London
    • Admission to the Sherlock Holmes Museum
    • Master class at the Haymarket Theatre for a talk and workshop with a leading theatre professional
    • Admission to the Charles Dickens Museum, which contains his manuscripts, original furniture, and more
    • Use your last afternoon for final discussions and reflection
    • Farewell dinner at a British restaurant
    • Departure from London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
