This program is designed to introduce students to European hospitality and tourism through the exploration of a variety of businesses and sites in Spain, France, Monaco, and Italy. It offers students the opportunity for a behind-the-scenes look on many levels of this industry in Europe. Students will enjoy learning how 5-star hotels are run and popular tourist attractions operated. This will help them evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of European practices and the applicability to their home businesses.

  • DAY 1

    • Overnight flight to Barcelona, Spain (group flight can be booked separately)
  • DAY 2-4: BARCELONA

    Stay 3 nights at a 4-star hotel in Barcelona

    • Arrival at Barcelona El-Prat Airport (BCN)
    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Guided walking tour of Barcelona
    • Welcome dinner at a Catalan restaurant
    • Guided tour of the Sagrada Família
    • Free time to explore the city
    • Guided tapas tour of Barcelona to discover the modern cuisine of Barcelona
    • Visit a 5-star hotel to learn more about their philosophy and concept
  • DAY 5: FIGUERES - CARCASONNE - AVIGNON

    • Admission to the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres
    • Guided walking tour of the French fortified city Carcasonne

    Stay 1 night at a 3-star hotel in Avignon

    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
  • DAY 6: AVIGNON - AIX EN PROVENCE/CANNES - NICE

    • Visit an olive oil mill in Avignon to learn how olive oil is produced (tasting included)
    • Free time in Aix-en-Provence or in Cannes

    Stay 2 nights at a 3-star hotel in Nice

    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
  • DAY 7: ÈZE

    • Visit a luxury hotel in or near Èze for a tour of their rooms and facilities as well as their back-of-the-house area
    • Guided tour of the Fragonard perfumery
    • Group dinner at a French restaurant
  • DAY 8: MONACO - MILAN

    • Visit the International University of Monaco to meet with faculty and students
    • Meet with a representative of the principality’s Tourism and Convention Office and learn how they promote Monaco as well as their MICE offers

    Stay 3 nights at a 2-star hotel in Milan

    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
  • DAY 9: MILAN

    • Guided walking tour of Milan
    • Free time to explore the city
  • DAY 10: LAKE COMO AREA

    • Guided boat tour on Lake Como
    • Visit a winery in Domaso for a wine tasting and to learn about the Lombardy region and their products
    • Group dinner at the winery
  • DAY 11: VERONA - VENICE

    • Free time to explore Verona
    • Guided tour of the Arena di Verona, the 3rd largest amphitheater in Italy

    Stay 3 nights at a 3-star hotel in Venice

    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
  • DAY 12-14: VENICE

    • Meet with a representative of Turismo Venezia to learn about the destination management of Venice and its current projects
    • Guided walking tour of Venice to visit Saint Mark’s Square, Rialto Bridge, Saint Paul’s Church, and more
    • Free time to further explore the city
    • Visit and guided tour of a 5-star luxury hotel
    • Farewell dinner at the 5-star hotel
    • Departure from Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE)
  • What’s included in this sample itinerary:

  • Program fee starting at € 2,770 per participant based on a group size of 15
  • All program fees are calculated to include participation of one accompanying faculty or group leader.
  • Prices are based on a minimum number of 15 or 20 paying participants.
  • The actual quote for a tailored program will vary depending on different factors, for example: the actual program dates, the final participant number, the duration of the program, the visits and excursions included, as well as varying exchange rates
