This engaging and interactive study abroad program combines classroom instruction with high-profile guest lectures, visits, and excursions, as well as practical training elements in the areas of goal finding, human rights, mediation, dispute resolution, social responsibility, peace building, and intercultural negotiation skills to prepare students for their future career goals to become leaders in a globalized world.

  • DAY 1

    • Overnight flight to Frankfurt, Germany (group flight can be booked separately)
  • DAY 2: FRANKFURT - STRASBOURG

    • Arrival at Frankfurt International Airport (FRA)

    Stay 11 nights at the European Study Center Strasbourg (Château de Pourtalès)

    • Check-in at the Château and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Welcome dinner at a French restaurant
  • DAY 2-6: STRASBOURG

    • Guest lecture on “European Identity” (or “French/German Identity”)
    • Guided walking tour of the city of Strasbourg
    • Visit the permanent exhibition “Lieu d’Europe” to learn about the European Union and its institutions
    • Visit a European Institution, e.g. the European Parliament or the Council of Europe
    • Guest lecture to learn about “Peace Building and Conflict Resolution in Europe – Current Issues, e.g. Refugees”
    • Outdoor workshop on leadership practices
    • Guided tour of the Historical Museum Strasbourg
    • Free afternoon to explore the “Capital of Europe”
  • DAY 7: ALSACE

    • Bus tour along the famous “Route du Vin” (wine route)
    • Guided tour of the Haut Koenigsbourg Castle
    • Admission to the former concentration camp Struthof
  • DAY 8: KEHL - STRASBOURG

    • Visit and guest lecture at the Euro Institute Kehl to learn about “Benefits of Cross-Border Cooperation – Germany/France as an Example”
    • Visit the Rhine River bridge in Kehl and walk across, from Germany to France, to underscore the French and German unification
  • DAY 9-10: STRASBOURG

    • Guest lecture on “Doing Business in France and Germany”
    • Visit the Franco-German local institution “ARTE TV”
    • Executive Leadership training day with a focus on self-leadership
  • DAY 11: OFFENBURG - FREIBURG

    • Business visit in Germany to learn about sustainable productions and solutions, e.g. at Peter Huber Kältemaschinen GmbH, the technology leader for high-precision thermoregulation in research and industry
    • Free afternoon in Freiburg, Germany
  • DAY 12-13: STRASBOURG

    • Visit the US Consulate General in Strasbourg
    • Free afternoon in Strasbourg
    • Farewell dinner at a French restaurant
    • Departure from Frankfurt International Airport (FRA)

  • Program fee starting at € 1,630 per participant based on a group size of 15
  • All program fees are calculated to include participation of one accompanying faculty or group leader.
  • Prices are based on a minimum number of 15 or 20 paying participants.
