“To understand a culture, learn its language” is the motto of this study abroad program. While at the Goethe-Institut in Berlin, students can successfully enhance their German skills for their studies and future career. During the planned excursions, as well as during their free time, students will soon discover that Germany is a country with many unique characteristics. It is full of history and tradition, but at the same time, known for innovation and technology.

  • DAY 1

    • Overnight flight to Berlin, Germany (group flight can be booked separately)
  • DAY 2: BERLIN

    Stay 14 nights at a youth hotel in Berlin

    • Arrival at Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL)
    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Guided walking tour of Berlin
    • Welcome dinner at a German restaurant
  • DAY 3-7: BERLIN

    • German language training at the Goethe-Institut
    • Special cultural and leisure activities designed to complement the course
  • DAY 8: POTSDAM

    • Guided tour of the Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam and afterwards free time to explore its beautiful gardens
    • Guided walking tour of Potsdam’s Dutch Quarter
  • DAY 9: DESSAU - LUTHERSTADT WITTENBERG

    • Guided tour of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, a center of research, teaching, and experimental design
    • Guided tour of the Luther’s House, a museum on the Reformation and Luther’s life
  • DAY 10-15: BERLIN

    • German language training at the Goethe-Institut
    • Special cultural and leisure activities designed to complement the course
    • Free day to explore the city
  • DAY 16-18: MEISSEN - DRESDEN

    Stay 3 nights at a 2-star hotel in Dresden

    • Guided tour of the Meissen Porcelain manufacturer, where the first German white porcelain was produced in 1708
    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Steamboat tour on the Elbe River to get a first impression of Dresden, the capital of Saxony
    • Guided tour of the palatial complex Dresdner Zwinger and its “Old Masters Picture Gallery”
    • Audio-guided tour of the rebuilt Frauenkirche, which was destroyed in the firebombing of Dresden during World War II
    • Visit Volkswagen’s Gläserne Manufaktur (Transparent Factory)
    • Free time to explore the city
  • DAY 19-20: NUREMBERG - HEIDELBERG

    Stay 2 nights at a 2-star hotel in Heidelberg

    • Guided tour of the Memorium Nürnberger Prozesse to learn about the Nuremberg trials after World War II
    • Free time to explore Nuremberg
    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Guided walking tour of Heidelberg and admission to the famous Heidelberg Castle
    • Free time to explore the city
  • DAY 21-22: FRANKFURT

    Stay 1 night at a 2-star hotel in Frankfurt

    • Visit a company in the Rhine-Neckar Triangle to learn about its operations and productions
    • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Visit the German Bundesbank in Frankfurt and its money museum
    • Farewell dinner at a German restaurant
    • Departure from Frankfurt International Airport (FRA)
  • What’s included in this sample itinerary:

    Academic and professional excursions with special presentations • cultural excursions and field trips with local, bilingual guides • entrance fees and reservations • accommodation in a youth hotel and 2-star hotels (twin rooms for students; single room for the faculty) • daily breakfast • welcome and farewell dinner • German language training (A2-B1) and course material • local transportation by private bus as needed • public transportation passes in Berlin (zone AB), Potsdam (zone C on day 8 only), Dresden, and Heidelberg (day 20 only) • on-site coordinator during excursions • orientation sessions • time to study, instruct, and explore

  • Program fee starting at € 3,190 per participant based on a group size of 15
  • All program fees are calculated to include participation of one accompanying faculty or group leader.
  • Prices are based on a minimum number of 15 or 20 paying participants.
  • The actual quote for a tailored program will vary depending on different factors, for example: the actual program dates, the final participant number, the duration of the program, the visits and excursions included, as well as varying exchange rates
