This program truly gives students the chance to meet the media in London! Whether students are interested in radio, television, public relations, journalism, or any other field related to communications – London is the place to visit.

Participants will be able to take a first-hand look at how print, online, television, and radio media obtain and disperse information to the British people. This invaluable experience with local experts in the fields will help students prepare for their future careers in communications or public relations.

  • DAY 1

    • Overnight flight to London, United Kingdom (group flight can be booked separately)
  • DAY 2-4: LONDON

    Stay 10 nights at a student residence in London

    • Arrival at London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
    • Check-in at the student residence and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
    • Guided walking tour of Fleet Street, which became known for printing and publishing at the start of the 16th century
    • Welcome dinner at a British pub
    • Guided hop-on hop-off bus tour of London for a first impression of Great Britain’s capital city and its landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, and Big Ben (public tour)
    • Visit a London newspaper or magazine to learn about their news coverage and advertising department
    • Meet with a journalist or foreign correspondent of a newspaper or magazine and learn about his/her job experiences
  • DAY 5: LEAVESDEN

    • Admission to the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studios to explore the place where the magic happened and to discover original film sets, animatronic creatures, and special effects
  • DAY 6: BIRMINGHAM

    • Visit BBC Birmingham for a special behind the scenes tour of their TV and radio studio
    • Free afternoon to explore the city
  • DAY 7-12: LONDON

    • Visit the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) to learn about their role as advocate and voice of the public relations profession
    • Free afternoon to explore the city
    • Visit the learning network YCN (You Can Now), which produces design, branding, advertising, and products; both for its own projects and ventures, and on behalf of clients
    • Admission to the London Film Museum Covent Gardens, which displays changing exhibitions from the British film industry and exhibits probs, costumes, and sets from feature films
    • Free weekend to explore London on your own or travel to nearby cities such as Oxford or Stratford-upon-Avon
    • Admission to the Photographers’ Gallery, the first independent gallery in Britain that was devoted entirely to photography
    • Visit a public relations agency, such as Edelman, to learn about their company and projects
    • Farewell dinner at a British restaurant
    • Departure from London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
