    The exploration of Spain’s regional differences starts in Catalonia, which has its own language, strong regional identity, and strives for independence from Spain, similar to the Basque region. The diversity of Spain becomes tangible for the students not only through the works of art at the Prado or Guggenheim Museum, but also through architectural wonders created by Gaudí. Further excursions across the Iberian Peninsula will expose students to the various cultures and religions that have strongly influenced Spain for centuries.

    • DAY 2-5: BARCELONA

      Stay 4 nights at a 3-star hotel in Barcelona

      • Arrival at Barcelona El-Prat Airport (BCN)
      • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
      • Guided walking tour of Barcelona
      • Welcome dinner at a Catalan restaurant
      • Audio-guided tour of the Montserrat Monastery, including the Museu de Montserrat and the Audiovisual Exhibition “Montserrat Portes Endins”
      • Guided tour of the Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí’s masterpiece
      • Admission to the Park Güell, a garden complex with architectural elements
      • Audio guided tour of the official FC Barcelona museum, including interactive history exhibits, the 360° “Spotify Camp Nou Live” projection space, and an exclusive viewpoint over the stadium’s ongoing renovation
      • Free time to further explore the city

    • DAY 6-11: SEVILLE - JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA - CÒRDOBA

      Stay 6 nights at a 3-star hotel in Seville

      • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
      • Guided walking tour of the Seville including Jewish Quarter (Barrio Santa Cruz) which takes you through the winding, narrow medieval streets of this historic neighborhood.
      • Audio-guided tour of the Real Alcázar of Seville, a magnificent palace complex that showcases a captivating blend of architectural styles.
      • Take part in a ceramics class and learn about the history of Spanish ceramics
      • Free time to further explore the city
      • Visit to different convents to purchase conventual sweets (Torta de aceite, Yemas de San Leandro, Magdalenas, Cortadillos, at your own expense) which are famous sweets made by the nuns who make them to help fund their convents.
      • Guided tour of the Factoría Cruzcampo in the original Cruzcampo brewery in Sevilla to learn about the beer-making process, including a tasting of Cruzcampo beers brewed on-site.
      • Guided tour of the Mercado de Triana, a local food market, followed by Paella making class which you will enjoy during lunch afterwards.
      • Guided tour of the traditional sherry bodega to learn about traditional Sherry production and the solera aging system including a tasting
      • Guided tour through the Medina Azahara, a palatial city was a symbol of the caliphate’s wealth, power, and cultural achievements.

    • DAY 12-16: MADRID - SEGOVIA - TOLEDO

      Stay 5 nights at a 3-star hotel in Madrid

      • Check-in at the hotel and orientation session by your CEPA On-Site Coordinator
      • Guided walking tour of Madrid
      • Guided tour of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, one of the greatest and most modern art galleries
      • Guided tour of Madrid’s famous bullring, Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas
      • Free time at the Roman Aqueduct
      • Guided tour of the Alcázar
      • Audio-guided tour of the Museo del Prado, which features one of the world’s finest collections of European art
      • Free time to further explore the city
      • Guided walking and panoramic bus tour of Toledo, a city where Christians, Arabs, and Jews have lived together for centuries
      • Free time to further explore the city
      • Farewell dinner at a Spanish restaurant in Madrid (flamenco show included)

    • DAY 17: MADRID
