    International law affects virtually every citizen of the world in some way. Students studying this field understand the value of having an international perspective. This program allows students to gain that perspective by visiting some of the most significant organizations in the field of international law.

    The Hague is home to over 150 international legal organizations including the International Court of Justice located at the Peace Palace. During the program, students will also have the opportunity to gain insights into Dutch culture and daily life.

    • DAY 1

      • Overnight flight to Amsterdam, The Netherlands (group flight can be booked separately)
    • DAY 2-5: THE HAGUE

      • Orientation session by your on-site CEPA coordinator
      • Guided walking tour of The Hague focusing on the city as a political and administrative center
      • Welcome dinner at a Dutch restaurant
      • Visit the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the primary judicial organ of the United Nations, to learn about its activities, history, and case law
      • Visit the International Criminal Court (ICC) to learn about its history, jurisdiction and mandate
      • Visit the Peace Palace Library, for a presentation of the oldest and most prestigious library specialized in international law
      • Audio-guided tour of the Peace Palace Visitor Center, which informs about the building itself as well as the institutions that are based in it
    • DAY 6: AMSTERDAM

      • Visit one of Amsterdam’s universities for a guest lecture on international criminal law
      • Admission to the Anne Frank Museum
    • DAY 7-8: THE NETHERLANDS

      • Free weekend to further explore The Hague, Amsterdam, or the seaside district Scheveningen
    • DAY 9-12: THE HAGUE

      • Visit an agency of the EU dealing with judicial co-operation in criminal matters
      • Visit the Humanity House for a lecture on Humanitarian Law
      • Visit the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), which was inaugurated in March 2009.
      • Visit the Organization of Prohibition of Chemical Weapons
      • Farewell dinner at a Dutch restaurant
