Passport Expedited Processing Times - Long Delays! Spring 2022 Program Considerations

U.S. State Department – Last update on June 17, 2021:

Expedited processing for passports will take up to 12 weeks!

Regular processing up to 18 weeks!

If you or your students are planning a study abroad program in Spring 2022, we would like to inform you that current passport processing times are significantly delayed. It would be unfortunate for participants to miss out on a faculty-led program or a semester abroad in 2022 because they don’t have a valid passport.

We encourage everyone to apply as soon as possible!

If you aren’t sure if you need to renew your passport, check the expiration date and make sure it is valid for 6 months after the end date of your Spring 2022 study abroad program.

We are carefully monitoring the following: travel and entry restrictions, conditions on the ground, availability of museums, restaurants, etc. throughout our destinations in Europe.

We are planning to run summer and Fall programs as we expect the conditions will improve with immunizations, eased entry requirements, and falling infection numbers. However, programs may have to be cancelled at short notice, if conditions change or if we feel it’s unsafe to run them.

Request an updated copy of our Emergency Protocol.
