SSB Winter Break in Germany
Study Abroad Program
Oklahoma State University
December 14 – December 22, 2024
During the winter break of 2024, Oklahoma State University, with the help of CEPA, was able to send 28 of its students on a study-abroad program to Germany, focusing on exploring the business aspects of various industries.
Once again, Oklahoma State University partnered with CEPA to organize a faculty-led study-abroad program, this time focusing on the cities of Munich and Nuremberg, Germany. Over the course of nine days, students had the opportunity to visit numerous cultural landmarks and events, as well as renowned companies across various sectors and industries.
The program was led in Munich by Diana Naimi and in Nuremberg by Alicia Deutsch. The group gained firsthand insights into innovative technologies, such as electric bus systems, and engaged in immersive cultural experiences, including learning how to make traditional German gingerbread cookies. Additionally, they explored the fascinating history behind Munich’s Christmas Market, uncovering how it evolved from a local tradition into a globally celebrated event.
Highlights of the program included visits to iconic sites such as Neuschwanstein Castle and the Imperial Castle of Nuremberg. The group also enjoyed unique experiences, such as sampling locally brewed beer at Ettal Monastery, and participated in powerful historical tours of Dachau Concentration Camp and the Nazi Party Rally Grounds.
This study-abroad program not only broadened the academic and cultural horizons of Oklahoma State University students but also created unforgettable memories. By engaging firsthand with Germany’s history, culture, and innovations, participants gained valuable insights and experiences that will leave a lasting impression on their personal and educational journeys.
