Who we are

CEPA Study Abroad is a U.S. based study abroad organization that partners with schools to develop and run custom faculty-led programs in over 40 countries. CEPA was founded in 1997 and operates study abroad programs across Europe, including European Study Centers in France and Germany. Our main administrative offices are in Besigheim, Germany and Strasbourg, France. CEPA also partners with the CEPA Foundation to provide service-learning opportunities in Costa Rica, Peru, and Guatemala, programs that align with our organization’s commitment to environmental and humanitarian engagement.

We are a small marketing team, very much mission and values driven, focused on building collaborative relationships and providing meaningful and challenging study abroad programs that enable students to broaden their global perspective, deepen their knowledge, and develop personally and professionally. We are committed to social responsibility and environmental sustainability and have been offsetting our carbon footprint since 2019.

CEPA Study Abroad joined Terra Education in 2026, giving the organization the opportunity to expand its study abroad programs to additional destinations outside of Europe, working alongside our colleagues at Terra who have long-standing expertise in Africa, Asia and Central & South America.

About the Role

We’re looking for a creative, curious, proactive Marketing Intern who is excited to gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of marketing projects and contribute to the growth of our organization.

Working closely with our different administrative and program teams, you’ll gain exposure to marketing strategy, campaign development, content creation, brand storytelling, graphic design, and special projects. This is an opportunity to learn how a marketing team operates while making meaningful contributions to real projects that support student engagement and enrollment.

The ideal intern is detail-oriented, collaborative, eager to learn, and comfortable taking initiative. You should enjoy moving between creative and analytical projects, following project specifications, and adapting to a dynamic work environment.

What You’ll Do

Marketing Strategy & Campaigns

  • Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns across the student journey, from awareness and lead generation through enrollment.
  • Help research audiences, market trends, and campaign performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with marketing planning, reporting, documentation, and maintaining team processes and systems.
  • Work with Admissions and Programs teams to ensure marketing accurately reflects our programs, student experience, and value proposition.
  • Learn how marketing strategy, brand positioning, and the marketing funnel work together to support organizational goals.

Creative Marketing & Content

  • Contribute ideas and content for campaigns, social media, websites, program materials, catalogs, info sheets, and other marketing collateral.
  • Support the development of creative concepts and storytelling that authentically showcase student experiences and program offerings.
  • Collaborate with other team members to bring creative projects from idea to completion.
  • Help ensure marketing materials are accurate, engaging, on-brand, and aligned with our commitment to genuine human storytelling.

Special Projects & Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Marketing, Admissions & Enrollment, Programs, Events, and Leadership.
  • Support high-priority marketing initiatives and contribute wherever the team needs assistance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong interest in marketing, communications, branding, content, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in a remote environment (if applicable).
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to receive feedback and learn from experienced marketing professionals.
  • Familiarity with common marketing, content, photo/video editing, or design tools is a plus (Canva, WordPress, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) but a willingness to learn is more important than prior experience.
  • Commitment to our no-AI-writing standard: AI may be used as a support tool, but original human thinking, writing, and storytelling are essential.
  • Intercultural sensitivity, inclusive mindset, team player, great communication, strong work ethic, and excited about international education.

What You’ll Gain

This internship provides hands-on exposure to marketing strategy, campaign development, content creation, brand management, and cross-functional collaboration within an international organization. You’ll work alongside experienced marketing professionals and build a portfolio of practical marketing experience while gaining a deeper understanding of Study Abroad and the programs we offer.

“I have been working as a CEPA coordinator many times during the last years and I always had a great time showing the students the beauty of Europe and also giving them an insight and further explanations into its culture. The students taking part in the study abroad programs came from Canada, the USA and Brazil. Being with international students and the fact that we traveled through several European countries, allowed me to use my language skills on a daily basis. As I love working in an international environment, I am always happy to meet students who are curious about Europe in every way. For me, coordinating is not just informing the students about the destinations and about making sure that the program runs smoothly, it’s also about being there for them when they make their own experiences. Every program has been a cultural exchange for me as well, that has broadened my mind.

Besides the program itself, I was impressed by CEPA’s extraordinary way to well prepare their coordinators for the programs. The CEPA program managers are very passionate about their trips and are therefore always there for future coordinators. Due to their comprehensive pre-organization of the program, you can count on always being well prepared!”

“I have been a tour coordinator for many years now, and I have to say that being a CEPA coordinator is even better than the normal thing. Being a tour coordinator sounds interesting and inviting because of the hopes to travel and to see new things and places, but that is not true: often you are not required to travel to any new or exotic destination, while you are expected to know the place your group is going to.

But, if you enjoy sharing, it is one of the best jobs, ever. The people CEPA takes care of are young and often first-time travelers: they are eager to experience everything, and the responsibility, the pleasure, and the merit to be the one able to provide this will be just yours. It’s the t

“I’ve worked as a local coordinator for the CEPA Europe study abroad programs for the past five years and I really like assisting the students groups as they study and travel through Europe. There are so many aspects of my job that I greatly enjoy! It is a rewarding and fun job, and it comes with a range of varied and interesting responsibilities. Another important aspect is teamwork. The support I get from the colleagues at Cepa Europe is really exceptional.

And last, but not least, this job became even more special due to people I meet – from different cultures,  with diverse views and backgrounds, and my participation on some of the visits or activities that were very interesting to me.  To conclude, the coordinator job has broadened my horizons on many different levels. Highly recommended!”
