Antje Rehling

Study Abroad Coordinator

Antje grew up in a small village in the south of Germany with a population of around 1,000 people located in between  Lake of Constance and the Black Forest. Since elementary school, she has been in love with languages and writing, which is why she went on a language trip to England when she was twelve years old. Choosing the second language at school – French or Latin – wasn’t difficult: Children who loved to talk should take French.

This choice influenced her whole professional life: After her high school degree, she studied linguistics and literature studies in Bonn and in Paris, where she experienced that high school French has nothing to do with “the real” French. Learning a language can’t be achieved without living in the country. Therefore, after earning her bachelor’s degree, Antje chose to continue with a double-degree master’s program in international economics in Freiburg and Paris.

Currently, she’s in Strasbourg to complete her master’s with an internship at the Strasbourg CEPA office at the Château de Pourtalès. If she isn’t at the office, she might be outside for a walk, reading a book, writing short stories, or cooking for her friends.
