Sarah Umrath

Study Abroad Coordinator

Sarah grew up in a village near the Swiss Border between Constance and Bale. Her passion for languages already developed quite early in primary school with English and continued with French and Spanish in high school. In university, she started learning Italian as well.

After high school, Sarah started her bachelor’s studies at the University of Constance with French Studies and Sociology. Within her courses, she spent a semester abroad in Avignon in the beautiful south of France. Because she fell in love with the region and the flair, she added her obligatory internship at university right after in a small French publishing house.

Shortly after finishing her bachelor’s degree, Sarah was accepted for a three-month internship at ARTE, the German-French television chain, and moved to Strasbourg. She was part of the Digital Publication team and developed skills in different areas, mainly in external communication and editorial staff.

After finishing her internship at ARTE in December 2023, she decided to do another internship and joined the CEPA team in Strasbourg. She’s excited for the next six months in the hope of gaining more (language) skills, developing herself, and collecting a lot of experience.

German is her native language, she is fluent in English, and French and has a basic knowledge of Spanish and Italian.
